6 More Free Shapes Patterns
6 More Free Shapes Patterns for Photoshop is a set of patterns in .pat format. I love using and creating patterns using shapes, either geometrical or asymmetrical. For one of these pattern examples I used a Heart Pattern, and I have included that pattern in the download file. The showcase shows each pattern at full size in its original colour, as well as an example of the pattern at 50% and coloured. Free download and the download button is after the showcase.
Pattern 1
A pattern of semi-circles and triangles. This first image shows the pattern at full size.
To obtain the following result, I placed the pattern on a new layer with a white background. I reduced the pattern size to 50%, and set the layer’s fill value to 0%. Then I rasterized the layer style and applied a Color Overlay: Blend Mode: Normal, Opacity: 100%, Colour: Pink – #FBBBC0. I then filled the background layer with Pale Pink: #F9E8EA.
Pattern 2
A mix of semi-circles and quarter circles make up this pattern. This images shows the pattern at full size.
For this result, I applied the pattern to a new layer with a white background. I reduced the pattern size to 50% and set the layer fill value to 0%. I then rasterized the layer style and applied a Color Overlay: Blend Mode: Color, Opacity: 100%, Colour: Purple – #A970C0. The background layer was filled with Pale Orange: #F6DEBB.
Pattern 3
An arrangement of triangles in 2 shades of grey. Shown below at 100%.
I went through the same steps as for the previous 2 patterns – Adding the pattern at 50% to a new layer with a fill value of 0%, rasterizing the layer style and then applying a Color Overlay: Blend Mode: Overlay, Opacity: 100%, Colour: Blue – #6B77D3. The Background layer had a blue fill: #241F6B.
Pattern 4
This pattern is an asymmetrical arrangement of rectangles. Shown below at full size.
I used a Gradient Overlay on this pattern, set at 50% and, as before, with 0% Fill on the layer. The gradient is ‘Nature Walk’ from my Earth Tones set: Blend Mode: Normal, Opacity: 100%, Style: Linear Reverse, Angle: 90°, Scale: 100%. I left the Background colour white.
Pattern 5
This arrangement of triangles gives an interesting shape in the white space. Shown here at full size.
I went through the above steps to create the rasterized pattern at 50%. Added a Color Overlay: Green – #337846. I filled the Background layer with Pale Green: #B5C8B9.
Pattern 6
A pattern of four rotated circles with an asymmetrical pattern inside. The image below shows the pattern at full size.
I went through the same steps as above to achieve the pink circles. I used #FD6C70, Blend Mode: Normal, Opacity: 100%. Then I rasterized the layer style once more, and added another pattern overlay: Hearts Pattern (included in the download file below), at 50%. The Background layer was filled with Red: #B63B40.
